Simon Jordan has warned James Maddison that he can ‘go to Tottenham’ during the summer transfer window, but only on Leicester City’s terms.
The former Crystal Palace owner was talking about the prospect of Leicester City suffering relegation and how they would have no choice but to part ways with their top stars.
James Maddison falls into that boat, but Jordan thinks that the Foxes might tell the England international that he can leave, but only if they get a transfer fee such as ‘£75 million’.
That’s ridiculous money for a relegated player and one that would effectively be a Championship player.
It’s obvious to the world and his dog that Maddison is way too good for England’s second-tier, but what if Leicester go down and become stubborn in parting ways with him?
Simon Jordan has been on the other side of that argument and he made it clear that, regardless of Maddison, he only leaves on the club’s say-so, as he told talkSPORT.
On Leicester’s top players leaving if they go down: “Agreed, but only on the football club’s terms,” said Jordan.
“With Maddison, you will say ‘listen, okay, I get it. Even though you were part of the team that got relegated and it’s actually you that’s complicit with all this’.
“You can go, you can go to Tottenham, or whoever wants to buy you and you can go for £75 million.”
MADDISON THE ‘PERFECT’ MIDFIELDER
The 26-year-old has been linked with several clubs up and down the land, and even if Leicester stay up, it’s highly likely that he leaves.
Tottenham have been long interested in the goalscoring midfielder, who has ten strikes to his name this season, that’s the same amount as Son Heung-min.
But Spurs aren’t the only ones because Maddison, described as ‘perfect’ by Ally McCoist on talkSPORT in March, is also a target of Liverpool and Newcastle United.
